Gif set: Arrival in Dixing

The first time Zhao Yunlan visits Dixing, he sees visions in of his mother when going through the portal, and arrives terribly shaken. The way Shen Wei offers him support - saying his name, touching him gently, grounding him in where they are - absolutely gets me every time, as does that vulnerability we see in Yunlan.

I have a lot of feelings about this this interaction, and so - gifs. Crossposted here on my Tumblr.

ETA: Only after staring at it for most of the day have I realized that the moment Shen Wei touches Zhao Yunlan (second gif), he leans into that touch. Then before letting go, Shen Wei gently pushes Zhao Yunlan upright again in the last one. It's so subtle and so very lovely and Guardian is full of these little moments.♥

And then Shen Wei nods - yes, you're here - not wherever the portal took you, not wherever you just went in your mind.

Yes! What does he know about the vision ::handwaving:: effect? Is he aware Zhao Yunlan saw something else? Did he expect it? Does he see something too? I'm so curious! ♥

Oh yeah! It's such an interesting question - I don't know if it's this way for everyone who comes through the portal, or just for Yunlan? It's very unclear? And it seems like when they go there later, Yunlan's fine? Ahhh, I'm going to be pondering this for a while!

Is his next visit the one where Daqing jumps in with them and throws off their landing? They basically fall out of the ceiling, right? (Which is too bad, because it's so hard to gauge someone's reaction when they've been dropped on the floor...) But he sees his mom later in the wormhole, too! Which is so fascinating! But we don't get to see what (if any) interaction they might have! :(
