But I grew up with a lot of long-haired teachers (who themselves grew up in the seventies where everyone's idol was John Lennon), so men with long hair were always normal to me. And I love long hair in men, so I adore that ponytail, too.
It's actually how short it is that's unfamiliar to me (masculine or feminine)! But I see from your conversation with jo_lasalle that this reaction may be familiar to you. :D He definitely makes it work!
yes, you're right. Longer is even better! But this short ponytail is just so cute! (Probably because Zhu Yilong himself is cute, so a cute style just fits him.)
I LOVE this look on him. It's screencaps of this show that inspired me to write him as a fashion designer in my newest WIP. (I haven't been watching the show and if it's as bad as you say, I might just stick with screencaps.)
Long ponytail beats short ponytail any day (which is why I just love the way he looks in Bordertown), but this is actually a pretty close second. Oddly enough, I don't like his teen!SW look with the hair all loose and flowing as much as I like either of the ponytails or his Prof Shen-style short hair. I just like longer hair to be tied back, I guess. Especially on real men (as opposed to animated guys, where I definitely wouldn't say no to even floor-length untied hair ^_^).
