I love the way the show does this - I am not versed in cinematography, but to me it seems like a great way to make Shen Wei seem even more striking and bad-ass. It looks especially great with the weapon!

Yeah, definitely makes him look taller and more imposing. Angles are good tools! (and the cinematography on Guardian isn't half bad!)
